SYMPOSIUM FEMINIST ASSOCIATIONS AND ORGANISATION IN ROMANIA (1848 – 1948) The Museum of Dacian and Roman Civilisation organises on April 29, 2009, at the Magna Curia building in Deva, the symposium with the theme “Feminist Associations and Organisation in Romania (1848 – 1948)”. In this framework the specialist of the museum of Deva will present a series of papers regarding the evolution of the feminist movement on the different historical regions of Romania, their particular goals and ideals. These studies are dedicated to the memory od certain great feminine figures of Hunedoara county, like Elena Pop Hossu Longin, Ana Petco si Lucretia Costa-Nicoara. Other subjects of interest to be considered by this symposium regard the history of the weaving workshop from Orattie, the figures of Princess Olga Sturdza and Alexandrina Cantacuzino, the period of maximum effervescence during the fourth decade of the 20th century, as well as the importance of the feminist publications.
