THE MEMORIAL HOUSE OF AUREL VLAICU
In 1952, when were celebrated 70 years from the birt of Aurel Vlaicu, a pioneer in aviation, his parents modest house was reorganised as a small memorial museum, by gathering in here a series of personal objects which belonged to the aviator. 30 years later, on the occasion of the celebration 100 years since the birth of Aurel Vlaciu a new museum was built in here. Nowadays its collections comprise a wide variety of memorabilia of this character, like technical equipments, scale models (mock-ups) of the early flying machnines, all of it vivid testimonies for his life and personality.
Today the museum is reorganised following an ingenious idea, which includes also the old house and a memorial monument of the great pilot and inventor, providing an appropriate environment for remembering the exceptional character who was Aurel Vlaicu.
